Mahoney-Hewat Science & Technology

For Hands-on Learning

  A place to create, discover, problem solve, and collaborate.

The Mahoney-Hewat Science and Technology Center (STC), was the dream of John L. “Jack” Mahoney a long-time teacher and principal of HVRHS. It opened in the fall of 2012. Before his death, Jack and the organization he founded, the 21st Century Fund for HVRHS, worked tirelessly to raise the funds and recruit dedicated teachers and community leaders to transform the Clarke B. Wood Agricultural Building into a center for hands-on learning.

STC strives to promote educational objectives and experiential learning opportunities for students of all ages; its goal is to push imaginations, curiosity, and personal boundaries.

The STC:
• is the home of the HVRHS robotics team, the Who’s CTEKs;
• has a “lending library” of equipment available for all the schools within Region One;
• is open to community organizations for a nominal fee.

Below is the STC calendar of events and activities.
