English/Language Arts instruction at the high school provides students with the language and literacy skills they need to be informed, curious, and productive members of society.  Students sample reading selections from a variety of genres and time periods, chosen for their ability to interest, entertain, educate, inspire, and challenge readers of all backgrounds.  They engage with and reflect upon texts through discussion and guided writing, learn how best to communicate with a variety of audiences for a variety of purposes, and explore their own interests and ideas through research and the creation of original texts.
